Again and again (2024)
Taking the form of an altarpiece, “Again and again” is an exploration of desire - the desire to have a child. Inspired by photos taken during my own experience with IVF, during which I suffered from Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS), this work explores the contemplative nature of repetitive acts of sacrifice - as each needle pierced my skin I dreamed of the colour of my child’s eyes, the feel of her skin against mine.
“Again and again, bloodied and bruised,
again and again if it meant I could have you.
